Raspados

Raspados (Mexican shaved ice) are the perfect summer treat! This Mexican shaved ice is made by blending and crushing ice, then topping it with homemade fruit syrup.

Let’s get started!

- sugar - water - ice - choice of fruit!

Ingredients Needed

For a healthier dish, skip frying the tortillas and just warm them up on the stove.

*Quick Tip!*

In a saucepan add water, and sugar then bring it to a boil. Add diced mangos and cook for 10 minutes.

01

Smash the mangos using a potato masher. Cook for 10 more minutes to allow the mixture to be syrup-like. Once it's reduced, take it off the heat and cool it for a minimum of 30 minutes.

02

Crush ice in the blender. Assemble your raspados by packing shaved ice into your serving cups and drizzling ¼ cup of the mango syrup on top.

03

Garnish with additional diced mangos, Tajín, or chamoy, and enjoy!
