Ingredients Needed

This dough can be made the night before and refrigerated until ready to roll, shape, and bake.

- anise seed - orange - red wine - shortening - cinnamon sugar - flour - baking powder - egg - vanilla extract

Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt into a medium bowl. Stir in the anise seed and orange zest.


In the stand mixer bowl, cream shortening and sugar together until light and fluffy. Mix in wet ingredients, then mix in dry ingredints. 


Allow dough to chill for 1 hour in the fridge. Then roll out dough and stamp out cookie shapes. Bake for 10 minutes and then allow to cool. 


Once they are cool to the touch, roll them in the cinnamon sugar and serve!
