marranitos (Mexican gingerbread pigs)

Marranitos is a sweet bread flavored with molasses and commonly found in Mexican bakeries. Best served with a cup of milk or coffee and eaten on weekend mornings!

- all-purpose flour - molasses - brown sugar - eggs - butter - milk - ground cinnamon - vanilla extract - ground ginger - baking soda

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

Add butter, sugar, egg, molasses, milk, and vanilla until smooth in a stand mixer. In another bowl mix together the dry ingredients.

Add the dry ingredients to the wet ones then roll out the dough. Use a cookie cutter and place them on a baking sheet.

Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are lightly browned. Serve with a glass of milk enjoy!
