Mexican Fruit Salad

A fresh Mexican fruit salad made from tropical fruits like watermelon, cantaloupe, and mango, and topped with a chili lime seasoning (like Tajin). It’s the perfect summer salad!

Mexican Fruit Salad topped with chili lime tajin seasoning.

Say hello to your new favorite fruit salad! This Mexican fruit salad is so incredibly simple, quick, and convenient to make. It’s a perfect side or dessert for any occasion, and great for cookouts and barbecues.

It’s so easy to make, it’s almost foolproof. You just chop your fruits, sprinkle with tajin, toss, and it’s ready to go!

Ingredients in Mexican fruit salad

Ingredients in Mexican Fruit Salad

For this recipe, I used sweet and tangy summer fruits like watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew melon, pineapple, mango and then topped with chili lime seasoning, or tajin. Tajin adds that extra zing with notes of citrus, salt, and a hint of chili that really compliments the sweetness of the fruits you won’t want to stop eating!

What is Tajin?

Tajin is a popular Mexican chili lime seasoning made with salt, dehydrated lime juice, and chili powder. Its spice level is very mild, so you can still enjoy it even if you don’t like spicy food! It can be used in many different ways like to season tortilla chips or sprinkled on Micheladas or margaritas, but my favorite way to use it is with sweet and juicy summer fruits. You can read more about Tajin here.

Other fruit that would be great in this salad

  • Kiwis
  • Papaya
  • Jicama
  • Strawberries
Diced watermelon, mango, cantaloupe, pineapple, and honeydew.

Tips and tricks

  • Cut all of your fruits the same size so they can be evenly mixed.
  • Eating this salad cold will be best in terms of flavor. You can prepare this salad and then chill in the fridge 1-2 hours before serving, or chill your fruits before preparing.

STORING INSTRUCTIONS

Place the fruit salad in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 days for optimal freshness.
